Tips, corrections and everything else.
A story tip
Email tanish@theblackobserver.com. The things most worth sending are the ones that never make the news: a court date, a settlement nobody reported, a school board vote, a police board agenda, a milestone in your city, a document you were told was public but cannot get anyone to hand over.
Tell us what you have and how you know it. If there is a document, a filing number or a date, include it. We check everything before it runs, so a tip we cannot verify is a tip we cannot use, however much we believe you.
If you need to be careful
Do not use a work email, a work phone or a work computer to send us anything your employer would object to. Use your own device and a personal account. Say clearly in your message whether you are willing to be named, because we will not assume either way.
We do not promise confidentiality we cannot keep, and we are not able to offer legal protection. If what you are considering sending could put your job or your safety at risk, talk to a lawyer or to a press freedom organisation before you talk to us.
A correction
Same address. Point at the sentence. Our corrections policy says what happens next.
Comments on the site
Comment problems, including anything abusive you want us to look at, go to the same address. The community guidelines explain how moderation works.
Press, speaking and everything else
Also tanish@theblackobserver.com. We do not take money for coverage, so pitches offering it are a waste of your time and ours.
